II. COURSE OBJECTIVES: |
This course introduces the students to the fundamental concepts and basic principles of Information Systems (IS). These include organizational and technical foundations of IS, building and implementing IS, and managing contemporary IS. Also, topics like e-commerce, e-business, intranets, extranets and other information technologies will be discussed during the course. The main focus of the course will be based on the interconnections between technology, the organization, and IS management. This course is based on an interactive workshop environment that will evaluate the emerging demand in industry for information strategy, planning and management skills. Stodents will be encouraged to establish links to business and industry through homeworks, which ensure an up-to-date, practical, applications-based focus to the course. You gain the practical skills you need to solve complex problems and manage the development, introduction and operation of business systems. Information Systems like Management Information Systems (MIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Executive Support Systems (ESS) will also be covered. |

V. GRADING: |
Two Mid Term examinations will be averaged and affect the grade by 50 %. Final exam will be the 50 % of the resulting grade. |
